MAKE-UP DEMONSTRATION

Fife SociHailey, a professinoal make-up artist applying make-up to Caroline.ety for the Blind’s Insight Team are here to provide support to our clients with whatever difficulties they are experiencing associated with sight loss. So, when a client came and requested advice about how to apply her make-up, we decided this was probably an issue that affected many clients and set about organising a Make-up Demonstration session.

The event was held on Thursday 7 April 2011, in the Erskine Church in Dunfermline. Hailey, a professional make-up artist from Facial Expression, Dunfermline, provided a demonstration to clients Caroline, Debbie and Ruby, of how to apply make-up. She explained what she was doing as she was working and gave advice on what colours suited each client. There was also a question and answer session so that the ladies could all benefit from Hailey’s professional expertise.

Caroline, who received the make-over demonstration, commented that “It was a really enjoyable day. We got good advice on how to apply make-up, the basic techniques and how to use your hands, by touch to tell if it’s gone on OK. I feel more confident and at ease now when applying my make-up. It was also a great occasion to socialise and meet new people.”

Lin Jones who organised the event said that “It
was a fantastic demHailey the make-up artist, standing behind Debbie, Ruth and Caroline (left to right).onstration and everyone enjoyed themselves. We are keen to offer the experience to more of our clients and so another Make-up Demonstration session is being organised for the Fife Society for the Blind summer Open Days.”
